Your den leader will contact you regarding individual den meetings.

Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Brothers, Sisters, (Scout families …), we need your help!  Helping the pack is easy, rewarding and fun for the whole family!  Please consider assisting with one or more of the fun activities planned for this year.  Included with this letter is a parent data base form that we are asking all families to complete and return to the first pack meeting.  There are several opportunities to contribute a small amount of your time including popcorn sales, pinewood derby and Blue and Gold.

This year Pack 1049 will continue to focus on the “12 Core Values of Scouting”:

  1. Citizenship
  2. Compassion
  3. Cooperation
  4. Courage
  5. Faith
  6. Health and Fitness
  7. Honesty
  8. Perseverance
  9. Positive Attitude
  10. Resourcefulness
  11. Respect
  12. Responsibility

I look forward to seeing all of you at our next Pack Meeting.

Come energized and ready for a great time with the Scouts!

Yours in Scouting,

Bill Lewis

Cubmaster – Pack 1049

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

** Popcorn – we follow the “hit it and quit it” philosophy.  Popcorn pays for most everything we do, but it’s also the only fund raising we do.  So “Do Your Best” at selling on your own or at our Show N Sells – 2 hour blocks selling outside local businesses.  It’s the easiest way to get started.  Sign up with your Scout here (yes, we need a parent to stay and help!):  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0c44aeae2ca64-pack1 .  If you want to sell on line, go here:  http://sell.trails-end.com/login
** Scouting web sites (national, state, council and district):  http://www.scouting.org/http://www.michiganscouting.org/ ,  http://www.michiganscouting.org/greatlakes/ ,http://michiganscouting.org/greatlakes/north-star-district/ .  Everything you could want to know about Scouting.
** Uniforms:  We have two uniforms.  Class B is a t-shirt, and is generally used for more casual settings.  We have to order more, so please check in at the next Pack meeting if you don’t have one.  Class A is the dress shirt, either blue for first 3 years or tan for the Webelos.  These you must buy yourself, but we supply all the patches, neckerchief, etc.  Info on uniform patch location:  http://www.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/34282.pdf
** Where do I buy Scout stuff, like a uniform?  At the Scout Store, with two locations to serve you, in Troy and mid-town Detroit:    http://www.michiganscouting.org/resources/scout-shops-and-service-centers/
** Charter Organization:  We are sponsored by the Beverly Hills United Methodist Church (BHUMC), NE corner of 13 and Evergreen.  They have been a great support system for us, primarily by letting us make use of their facilities.  Please thank Pastor Sue or our rep, Kevin Dimitry, if you get the chance to meet them. http://www.bhumc.com/?home
** Tip: if you need to purchase camping gear, DO mention you are a cub scout as most stores will give you a discount 🙂
